Adult Education, GED & ESL

Graduation cap

The Adult Basic Education, GED and ESL Department serves a diverse population of learners both on campus and in the community, teaching basic skills (reading, writing and mathmatics) and assisting learners in acquiring the knowledge to function effectively as a worker, citizen, lifelong learner and family member in a changing world.

The focus of Tallahassee Community College's Adult Education program is to improve basic reading, writing and computing skills for individuals preparing for the GED exam, and seeking to improve their workforce skills. Options for successful learning include classroom instruction, online instruction and Telecourse programs. Instruction is provided on TCC's campus and at community sites.

Whether pursuing a transition to the workforce or a post-secondary education, our students can complete each course while maintaining job and/or family responsibilities. We provide an innovative and challenging program that encourages students' love of learning and promotes personal growth and satisfaction. Our department believes all students are capable of learning and becoming productive citizens. We respect individual learning differences and strive to instill essential core knowledge and values through a systematic, engaging curriculum that fulfills all learning needs.
