Graduating High School Senior
Students who are seniors in high school (or have graduated from an accredited high school), have not previously attended college, and are seeking admissions to TCC for the first time are considered high school students/graduates (or also referred as first-time-in-college [FTIC] students).
Please follow these admission steps in order to be admitted to TCC as a first-time-in-college student:
1. Apply for Financial Aid
If you are eligible for federal financial aid, this money will help you pay for your college expenses. You must apply as soon as possible as there are limited federal funds available for all students. You do not need to wait to be admitted to submit your financial aid application, Federal Application for Federal Student Aid, also known as the FAFSA. If you have any questions regarding your financial aid application, please contact the Financial Aid office at (850) 201-8399.
2. Submit your TCC application for admission and all other relevant information.
Visit Steps to TCC for the online or printable TCC application. Please remember to fill it out completely and remember to have your high school send your official high school transcript once you graduate. If you have any questions regarding your application, please contact the Enrollment Services office at (850) 201-8555.
3. Take the placement test
This test is not for admission but for placement purposes. If you have taken the ACT or SAT and your scores are no more than two years-old, please submit them along with your TCC admission application. You will be required to take the College Placement Test (CPT) if you have not taken these tests. You can contact the Testing Center at (850) 201-8282 if you have any questions about the CPT.
4. Schedule your orientation
All new TCC students are required to complete New Student Orientation before registering for classes. The orientation program familiarizes students with TCC policies, campus procedures and a number of important student resources. The information provided through the orientation program enables students to make smart decisions when scheduling classes and provides strong guidance as students work toward future academic and career goals. Students can satisfy the orientation requirement by attending an on-campus orientation program. Students should make arrangements to complete orientation after they are admitted to the College. Please contact the Orientation Office at (850) 201-8440 for additional information.
