International Student Services
A student who is not a citizen or permanent resident of the United States will be considered an international student.
Admissions Steps
Before an I-20 can be issued, students must submit the following documentation in order to be admitted to TCC:
- Official transcripts, which must be evaluated by a credential evaluation service such as the World Education Services, Inc. or Josef Silny & Associates, Inc. Costs for these services must be borne by the student.
- If applying as a beginning college student, please submit official high school or secondary education transcript evaluated as document-by-document.
- If applying as a transfer student, please submit a course-by-course evaluation of college or university level transcript(s) if credit for these courses is to be given by TCC.
- Official TOEFL report. If your native language is not English, a TOEFL score must be submitted with a required minimum score of 173 (computer-based), 500 (paper-based), or 61 (Internet-Based).
- Confidential Financial Statement including a certification letter written in English from a bank on letterhead and stamped by bank officials with financial data recorded in US dollars for the amount of $21,700 written in English. NOTE: This statement should be recent and not older than six months.

Transfer Form if transferring from a school within the United States. International applicants transferring from any U. S. educational institution must be in status with immigration and in good standing, i.e., eligible to continue at or return to the present institution.
- Proof of health insurance that has a evacuation and repatriation clause and will cover health insurance in the United States. To enroll, you may go to: InsuranceforStudents.com

Pre-Arrival Packet
Once you are admitted into TCC, download the Pre-Arrival Packet. The Pre-Arrival Packet will give you more information to ensure a proper arrival to the Country and TCC. The following requirements could be provided after students have arrived at TCC:
- Proof of Health Insurance. All international students are required to enroll in an international health insurance program which includes Medical Evaluation and Repatriation before registration for classes is permitted. The College has contracted with Insurance for Students, Inc. (IFS) to ensure that coverage meets the minimum requirements. International Student Health Insurance Website
Testing/Class Placement
Class registration will take place a day after the mandatory Orientation for International Students. Please submit the results of the placement test (CPT) to the international student advisor, who will assist you in determining what classes to take during your first semester at TCC.
English and reading placements are very important for international students. There are only two college preparatory English and reading classes for students whose first language is not English if college preparatory placement is indicated by the following CPT scores:

How to Mantain Your F-1 Status

International Student (F-1) Forms
International Students (F-1) forms such as Sevis Trasfer Form, I-20 extension form, and Curricular Practical Training can be download frrom here.
- Sevis Tranfer Form
Transfer Students who have completed their AA or Program at TCC must fill this form and submit it to the International Student Services Office, so their SEVIS record can be released to the new school. Download Sevis Tranfer form
- I-20 Extension Form
F-1 Students wishing to extend their I-20 must submit this form completed in order for your International Advisor to issue an I-20 extension. Download I-20 Extension Form
- Curricular Practical Training (CPT)
F-1 students doing interships ON/OFF campus, paid or unpaid need CPT Authorization. F-1 student regulation permit an international student advisor to authorize employment for the purpose of CPT. Download CPT form
- Change of Status
This form will allow you to properly follow the steps to change your status to F-1 visa. Download Change of Status Form
